Tablo (4th Generation) Over-the-Air [OTA] DVR

First week I loved it. Since then getting very slow loading and some errors r regarding cannot access server or data access error do you want to retry. I have switched between WiFi and wired Ethernet. And the errors still occur pretty much a couple of times per day. No an issue with my network as the TABLO is in the same room as my router is. Wireless signal strength is excellent and wired is very good.

Very buggy Smart TV App that crashes, locks up, or does not initialize on my Samsung TVs and 1 of them is a newer model. Very slow to move through the various options or scrolling through the guide in the Live Function. I really wanted to get away from tivo and was optimistic about this product, but it doesn't hold a candle to tivo. Lacking a lot of features. Need an option to either skip or fast forward through commercials. Android app seems a little more reliable.

Received my unit just over one month ago. Installed as directed. Some days I can go a whole day with TABLO working great. Most days I wind up power cycling and/or rebooting the Tablo several times because the TABLO can't be found, or App won't come up, or some other issue which I believe is a software programming issue at TABLO's end. I spent virtually my entire working life as an electronic technician and IT specialist, so the last thing I want to do in retirement is troubleshooting TABLO issues that can't be fixed at my end. The reason I bought TABLO was to keep my TV viewing simple and cost effective. No more expensive subscriptions with Verizon. YouTube TV, Comcast, loaded with hundreds of channels I could care less about, and all these are constantly trying to bleed me dry financially. Just give me basic, local area OTA, with the option to record a few favorite TV shows. Without constantly requiring me to try to resolve technical issues. So far, I am not satisfied.

It seems to do a good job at recording, but the interface leaves a LOT to be desired. The app is not the same on android as it is on my Insignia TV ( which may be Fire TV operating system). The app on my Insignia TV is the better as it allows movies to be searched in a general way. In the android app you have to know the name of the movie, which is practically useless unless you already know the schedule. The android app also makes you hunt for you recordings instead of putting them up top when you open it. The app for Samsung TV is non existent and you have to use a streaming stick, which once again makes you use the crummy android app. Are you listening Tablo? Please improve you app(s). If you can do that, you will have a winner!

The 4th Generation Tablo used to be rock solid. Then they started messing around with it by adding new features that nobody asked for. Now it's unstable and it's begun to buffer on my 1Gb mesh network. This is exactly how they screwed up the previous version. They never learn.
