*COMING SOON

When will the Apple TV app be available?

The 4th generation Tablo app for Apple TV app is in beta testing now. We expect it to be available soon.

If you do not have a compatible smart TV or streaming device, you can still use the 4th generation Tablo by connecting any compatible streaming device to your television.

Does Tablo require a subscription?

No. There are no subscriptions, contracts, or hidden fees with Tablo whatsoever. Programming from your TV antenna as well as the 40+ included internet-based streaming channels are absolutely free and there is no cost to enjoy any Tablo apps, features, or guide data.

What hard drives are compatible with Tablo if I want to increase recording storage capacity?

Tablo devices come with up to 50 hours of onboard HD storage. However, you can choose to connect a portable USB hard drive (USB 2.0 or 3.0) between 1TB and 8TB in size for up to 1000 hours of additional storage capacity. See the Tablo Support Portal for details and recommendations.

Can I watch or record cable/satellite or streaming services with Tablo?

No. Tablo is designed to stream and record broadcast TV from antennas as well as included free TV streaming channels. It does not support viewing or recording from streaming services like Netflix for Sling, or cable or satellite channels like ESPN or HGTV.

Does the 4th generation Tablo support ATSC 3.0 (aka NextGenTV)?

No. The tuners in the 4th generation Tablo support the ATSC 1.0 broadcast standard used by all major commercial broadcasts today and the Tablo device takes full advantage of it like never before. While ATSC 3.0 broadcasts are available in some markets, ATSC 1.0 broadcasts will continue through at least June 2027.

What are Tablo’s shipping and return policies?

Shipping is always free to residents of the United States. And while we hope you love your Tablo, if you’re unhappy for any reason we offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. Customers must pay for return shipping. See our store policies page for details.

Disappointing experience - not reliable

Note: this is my second attempt at posting a review. my first review did not get posted for whatever reason (probably because I gave the tablotv a one star review?).

I have a brand new insignia smart TV. my internet connection handles other streaming apps and devices with no trouble at all. my OTA antenna pulls in local channels with a strong signal (four green dots) according to the tablotv channel scan function.... but too often the scheduled recordings are unwatchable. I often get errors such as "timeout waiting for video data" or simply "failed" on the shows thumbnail in the library latest recording screen. also another frequent problem is programs being recorded in fragments with some of the fragments not playing at all.
but here is the most frustrating issue I have with the tablotv: there is NO PROBLEM watching a program while it airs live. But if it is a program that I am also recording, when I go to play it back to watch it again, it often will not be playable.
being able to record and playback local TV channels was the main reason I bought a tablotv device, but overall my experience with the device has been disappointing so I give it a one star review.
I also have negative opinions about the tablotv app not being user friendly but that is another review for another time.

Has become consistently buggy

Purchased from Best Buy in May. Using it via a Roku stick. Was fine the first two weeks. Since then the app gets closed multiple times per day while I am watching OTA channels. First freezes, then I’m kicked out of the app and back to the Roku screen. Pretty worthless.

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the Tablo (4th Generation) OTA DVR. We apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced with the app closing while watching OTA channels. This is definitely not the experience we want for our customers. We recommend checking for any updates for both the Tablo and the Roku stick, as this could potentially resolve the issue. Additionally, please note that some Roku devices (like Roku Express) may lack the advanced equipment needed for a seamless viewing experience. We have a full list of compatible Roku devices on our website for your reference. If the issue persists, please reach out to our customer support for further assistance. Thank you again for your feedback.

Does not work on all TVs to wit : Vizio

do better research than did I.

Hi there! Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We appreciate your feedback and apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced. We are continually working to expand our compatibility and are not yet working on a Vizio app for Tablo. However, if you have a Vizio TV and would like to use Tablo, you can access our app through a streaming media player like an Amazon Firestick or Roku. If you want to be the first to know when new technology and services are available, we encourage you to join our newsletter at TabloTV.com. Thank you for choosing Tablo!
